Artist

Tiana has been using theatre to tell joy filled and challenging stories as an actor, director, and designer for over eighteen years. Recently she has spent most of her time as a director, facilitator, and creator of original theatre for young audiences. Explore more of her work in these areas below.

Creator

Tiana loves to be apart of creating new theatrical experiences! This can involve working as a producer, devisor, playwright, or as an actor.

Some of her favorite recent projects include working with Tim Webb of Oily Cart Theatre to create a new piece for students with multiple learning disabilities, devising with Director Michale Rohd, and co-creating the new production, Between Two Worlds.

Between Two Worlds

Tiana was blessed to work with DogEar Theatre Productions from 2016-2019 on the production of “Between Two Worlds”. This is a new immersive and moveable theatre for youth piece that retold and transformed the Greek myth of Persephone. This project  was made possible through grants from the Barn Arts Collective (2017) and Tempe Arts in the Parks (2018). Tiana worked as a co-creator, devisor, grant writer, education director, and marketing manager.

Director

As a Director, Tiana is interested in telling stories that sing of beauty and call the audience towards the story of God. She has a particular fondness for directing classics like Shakespeare. Facilitator

Tiana has extensive theatre facilitation training and experience.

She loves how using the tool of facilitation in theatre can connect audiences, inspire them to think differently, and connect the theatrical work to their lives deeply.

Some of her favorite experiences included working with award winning director Michael Rohd as the facilitation captain and head facilitator for his production of The Compass.

Additionally, Tiana has had in-depth training in the Critical Response Process (CRP) with founder and MaArthur Genius Liz Lerman. She teaches CRP in her classrooms and leads CRP workshops for artistic projects.
